    Ski in the sun! Its location in the heart of a natural amphitheatre guarantees the Val Thorens ski area optimal sunshine throughout the day.

    The professional’s advice: set off for Boismint in the morning and finish your day in the south facing sector, you will be skiing in the sun all day long. So high too, the Val Thorens ski area extends from 1,825m to 3,230m. Thanks to this altitude, Val Thorens benefits from optimal snow cover from November to May.

    Since its creation, Val Thorens has never ceased to innovate and offers skiers a modern and comfortable network of lifts. With high performance, windless, closed cabins, there is minimal waiting time and comfortable transport thanks to the technologies developed in-house by SETAM, the company in charge of the resort’s ski lifts.     The best spots in the ski area…

    1. The Cime Caron: the legendary summit of Val Thorens at 3,200 m, the Cime Caron is accessible via the cable car of the same name and from December 2021 via the brand new Orelle-Caron cable car in the Orelle sector. This new access allows you to explore the whole Orelle sector and its demanding slopes. At the top, the 360° panorama before displays more than a thousand peaks of the French, Italian and Swiss Alps: enjoy a moment of wonder and fulfilment…
    2. The Lory slope: a gateway to another world… At the top of the Funitel de Thorens, take the blue Lory piste. Look around, you are in the heart of a thousand-year-old glacial valley: the Bouchet valley! The “grandeur of the mountains” takes on its full meaning here, you can hurtle down this secret piste, practically alone in the world, before re-joining the 3 Valleys ski area.
    3. The Igloo village: fancy a break? Discover the Igloo village just a few turns from Val Thorens, on the green slope of the Combe de Thorens. For a sunset aperitif with music, a candlelit meal or a stroll on a frosty night, this is a truly unique spot of the 3 Valleys. The ice cave is a must too, with its original pirate theme…
    4. The Boismint sector: put on your skis and head for the Boismint sector in the morning, as soon as the lifts open. Experience a day of exceptional skiing starting with the first rays of the sun glistening on perfectly groomed slopes; you’ll carve like a champion. Then head for the Cime Caron and its numerous accesses to exceptional freeride spots via the Plan de l’Eau chairlift, thrills guaranteed!
    5. The Val Thorens snowpark: a highlight of the 3 Valleys! 70 000m² exclusively dedicated to freestyle with its 3 lines of different levels, its various modules and its big air bag, perfect for practicing in complete safety. As for the FamilyPark, it allows everyone to be gently introduced to the sensations of skiing… or to admire the freestyle skiing and snowboarding of the pros.
