Here’s some wonderful news for all those who love admiring one of the most stunning views in Les 3 Vallées! The Pointe de la Masse gondola lift will be endowed with 13 new cabins this winter, taking 2,800 people, instead of 2,400 previously, up to this iconic summit even quicker than before!

450 solar panels have been installed on the roof of the Ariondaz gondola lift arrival station in Courchevel-Moriond, producing up to 188 megawatts/hour, which are used to operate the lift.
This is just the start of a huge project based on the European green deal, which aims to use more local, green energy. The aim of this 3-year plan is to make Les 3 Vallées ski area more sustainable, ensuring it has less of an impact on the environment.
The Saulire Express gondola lift is now home to a solar power station comprising 182 solar panels and a surface area of 400 m2.
A unique project for France and the mountains, it uses cutting edge technology: its 149 solar cells can produce energy on both sides thanks to the reflection of the snow in winter and the "albedo" effect, allowing them to absorb more light. It’s the perfect example of innovation that’s adapted to the winter Alpine environment.
With the aim of reducing energy consumption, 30 snow cannons have been replaced by more efficient models in Les Menuires and Saint-Martin-de-Belleville. Using 7 times less air than the older versions, the new snowmakers reduce electricity consumption substantially. Les 3 Vallées is committed to coming up with solutions to reduce its impact, and to guarantee sustainability in the mountains.
